Unilever uses different assessment stages for its Future Leaders Programme and for apprenticeships. This guide compares the two as published.
Unilever UK describes a four-step Future Leaders route: online application, a profile assessment, a digital interview and a Discovery Centre. For a UK apprenticeship page I read, the online stage is a situational judgement test plus numerical and verbal reasoning. Unilever does not name a test provider on either page, and says it does not use AI as a screening tool.
The UK and Ireland page for the 2026 intake sets out four steps. You complete an online form, which can be filled in from a LinkedIn profile, and you may apply to one function only. The page also says applications open once a year around the fourth quarter and are handled on a rolling basis, closing once enough have been received.
The page does not break down the online assessment into numerical, verbal or game components. What counts as the cognitive element is therefore not publicly confirmed for this route. The portrait stage is a questionnaire, and ReasonEra does not cover that part.
A UK apprenticeship page I read gives a more specific online stage. After the online application, where you explain your motivation for choosing Unilever, you take three tests.
| Test | What the page says it covers |
|---|---|
| Situational judgement | Realistic hypothetical workplace scenarios where you choose the most appropriate response |
| Numerical reasoning | Interpreting numerical data and drawing conclusions |
| Verbal reasoning | Understanding and evaluating written information |
Those who perform well are invited to a video interview, then to an in-person Discovery Centre working on business challenges plus an interview. The page lists applications opening on 9 November 2026 on a rolling basis for a September 2027 start, and some of its dates are inconsistent with each other, so confirm timing with Unilever directly.
Unilever says a real person reviews every digital interview submission and that it does not use AI as a screening tool in recruitment. The interview itself is described as a short set of hypothetical questions followed by a business case. This is a communication and judgement stage, not a reasoning test, so preparation here means rehearsing out loud rather than doing practice sets.
For the numerical and verbal reasoning tests on the apprenticeship route, short, repeated practice does more than one marathon session.
The true, false, cannot say guide covers the verbal format in detail.
ReasonEra can explain verbal, numerical and situational judgement practice questions from a screenshot, showing the reasoning step by step, so you can see how a conclusion follows from the text or data. A free account includes 3 free trials, and the 14-Day Pass costs 49 € for unlimited use for 14 days. See the verbal reasoning solver for the supported types. Complete the real Unilever assessments yourself, as the assessment instructions require.
Assessment stages vary by role, country and intake, so treat the invitation you receive as the authority.
ReasonEra exists to teach the method behind each answer, but conditions for a real test are set by the employer and are often strict, so treat it as practice and not as a way around the test.
Unilever says the profile assessment has two stages, a portrait questionnaire and an online assessment, which together look at cognitive, emotional and social traits. It does not break the online assessment into numerical or verbal tests on the page read.
A UK apprenticeship page lists numerical reasoning and verbal reasoning alongside a situational judgement test. Check your own programme, because routes differ.

It is the final stage, a face-to-face day with business challenges, project meetings and an interview. The apprenticeship page describes it as working on business challenges on site plus an interview.
