A five-step process with an immersive online assessment, a job simulation and a two-part final stage. Here is what Deloitte says and what it does not.
Deloitte UK describes five steps. The second, an immersive online assessment, has a behavioural section and a cognitive section covering numerical and verbal reasoning, and the third is a job simulation with ranking, written and video responses. Deloitte does not publish a test provider name on the page we read.
| Stage | What Deloitte describes | Reasoning relevance |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Apply online | About 15 minutes: personal details and education. Complete it in one session and do not resubmit. | None |
| 2. Immersive online assessment | A behavioural section (workplace scenarios, ranking responses, working style) and a cognitive section (numerical and verbal reasoning) | High: the cognitive section |
| 3. Job simulation | Ranking and selecting responses, written answers and video responses; some scenarios mention AI tools, with no prior AI experience needed | Medium: information-handling and judgement |
| 4. Final stage | A discussion of a topic you prepare, and a skills and motivation interview | Low: interview skills |
| 5. Outcome | Timing is "as soon as we can", with learning resources in the Candidate Zone | None |
This is the stage where numerical and verbal reasoning sit. Deloitte says there is no overall time limit, though some sections are timed, and it recommends finishing in one sitting. The behavioural section covers workplace scenarios and how you like to work. ReasonEra does not cover that part.
You then receive a feedback report on your strengths and a decision within four weeks. Some programmes, such as Career Shapers and Aspire, end here, so a clear result at this point matters for those applicants.
Step three behaves less like a classic test and more like a work sample. You rank and select responses, write answers and record video responses, and the page notes that some scenarios reference AI tools. Practice questions are available inside this stage to familiarise you with the format.
Entry Level Apprenticeships and some shorter work experience programmes use a single combined online assessment called OneStop instead of steps two and three, and Spring Into Deloitte applicants finish after the job simulation.
Deloitte provides free practice assessments and guidance in the Candidate Zone, linked from your invitation. It also says websites that charge for assessment answers are not endorsed and that using them would breach its Integrity Guidelines. Build real skill instead, and use practice material to understand the reasoning, not to memorise answers.
For the cognitive section, upload a practice numerical or verbal question as a screenshot and ask for Tutor Explanation, which sets out each step so you can compare it with your own method. Quick Verify is useful when you only need to check an answer you worked out. Use it as revision ahead of the real thing, not while an assessment is open. A free account has 3 free trials, and the 14-Day Pass at 49 € is designed for focused daily practice.
Deloitte says no formal diagnosis is needed to request reasonable adjustments, and you can request one at each stage through the form linked in the invitation, as formats change from stage to stage. Examples include extra time, alternative formats, extra practice questions, extra preparation time for video, and quiet break spaces. Ask early, because late requests can be hard to arrange. Unsuccessful applicants can reapply, with one application accepted per intake or academic year from September to August.
Employers and test publishers change their processes, so rely on your own invitation where it differs.
ReasonEra is designed for practice and learning, but the rules of a graded test come from the employer, not from us, so use it beforehand and sit the real test on your own.
It is step two of the UK early careers process and has a behavioural section and a cognitive section covering numerical and verbal reasoning. Some sections are timed, and there is no overall time limit.
Deloitte says you receive a decision within four weeks of the immersive online assessment, and an email with your result within four weeks of the job simulation.
It is step three, with ranking and selecting responses, written answers and video responses based on workplace scenarios. Practice questions are offered inside it.
There is a discussion of a topic you prepare, about 30 to 40 minutes, then a skills and motivation interview of about 50 minutes. Summer Vacation Scheme applicants have only the interview.
Yes, but Deloitte accepts only one application per intake or academic year, running September to August.
