Is ReasonEra safe to use?

Nothing to download, nothing to scan. Here is what runs where, and what happens to the questions you upload.

The short answer

ReasonEra is a website. You do not install an app, run an installer from an unknown source or scan a QR code, so no new software is placed on your computer or phone. The questions you upload are processed to produce your results, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Why "nothing to install" matters

Any program you install can read files, watch your screen or change settings, and a QR code can open a page or start a pairing without telling you what will happen next. Both are fine when you know and trust the source, but that is hard to judge when a tool is new to you.

ReasonEra avoids the question. You open a web page in the browser you already use, upload an image you chose, and read the result. When you close the tab, nothing of ReasonEra remains on your device other than ordinary browser data such as cookies.

Usage dataLog and technical data such as browser type and timestamps, used to run and secure the service.
Payment detailsHandled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

The full detail is in the Privacy Policy, which is the document that applies if there is any difference.

What to avoid uploading

Crop or blur personal details before uploading. Practice questions do not need them.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or UK, the GDPR gives you rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, subject to the usual limits. We do not sell personal data. To use a right, or to ask a question about your data, email info@reasonera.com.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses cookies, including third-party analytics such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, to understand how pages are used. The Privacy Policy lists them and explains the choices you have.

A fair caveat

No website can promise perfect security, and our Privacy Policy says so too. What we can say is that using ReasonEra involves fewer moving parts on your own device than installing software or pairing a phone would.
