AI Situational Judgement Test Solver

Upload a situational judgement question, see which responses fit best, and understand the reasoning behind them.

The short answer

ReasonEra is an AI tutor for situational judgement test (SJT) questions. You upload a screenshot or photo of a scenario and its response options; it suggests how the options compare and, in Tutor Explanation mode, explains the reasoning in terms of professional behaviour. Its purpose is practice and learning.

How to use the situational judgement solver

  1. Get the question on screen. Capture it with every option visible, from material you are allowed to practise with.
  2. Hand it to ReasonEra. Upload the image in your browser. That is all the setup there is.
  3. Say how much detail you want. Quick Verify returns only the answer; Tutor Explanation walks through the logic one rule at a time.

What situational judgement questions look like

SJTs describe a realistic work scenario and ask you to rate or rank possible responses, or to choose the most and least effective. There is rarely a single factual answer. Employers look for behaviours that fit their values, such as honesty, teamwork and respect for confidentiality.

Worked example: a confidentiality scenario

Question: A colleague asks you to share your unfinished client report so they can reuse your layout, but the report contains confidential client data. Options: (A) Send the report as it is, (B) Share the layout without the client data, (C) Say nothing and ignore the request. Which is most and least effective?

Answer: Most effective: (B). Least effective: (A) or (C), with (A) the riskiest because it exposes client data.

How the reasoning goes:

  1. Identify the value at stake: client confidentiality, alongside being helpful to a colleague.
  2. Option B protects confidentiality and still helps, so it satisfies both values.
  3. Option A helps but breaches confidentiality, which is a serious error.
  4. Option C avoids the breach but ignores a colleague, so it is unhelpful rather than harmful.

We made up this example to show the method. It is not a real assessment question.

How accurate is the situational judgement solver?

Because the benchmark tested non-verbal and logic items, there is no figure to quote here. We would rather leave it out than guess. Your own free trials will tell you more. Situational judgement questions were not part of that benchmark, and SJTs have no single factual answer, so treat suggestions as guidance.

Practice tips

  • Find the value being tested, such as honesty, teamwork or client focus.
  • Prefer responses that solve the problem and follow policy.
  • Avoid extremes such as ignoring the issue or escalating without trying first.
  • Read the employer's published values.

Limits to know about

  • Poorly lit photos of a screen can blur fine detail, so a direct screenshot is better than a photo where possible.
  • Questions with unclear wording or several valid readings can lead to an answer that differs from the test's.
  • SJT answers depend on an employer's values, so there may be no single correct response.
  • Accuracy is high but not perfect, so verify any explanation that does not add up.

Read your invitation first

Employer assessments often say you must work alone and without assistance. ReasonEra is a study tool, and the sensible time to use it is before the test, on practice material.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can AI solve situational judgement tests?

AI can compare options and explain the reasoning, but SJTs depend on an employer's values, so there is no single factual answer. Treat ReasonEra's suggestions as guidance for practice.

How do I use it?

Take a screenshot of the scenario and the response options together, upload it in your browser, and choose Tutor Explanation to see the reasoning.

Which tests include SJTs?

ReasonEra has guides for assessments that include SJT sections, such as SHL General Ability, TestGorilla, Hudson and Sova. See the list on this page.

What do the free trials include?

Three trials are free. After them, one 49 € payment covers unlimited use for 14 days across every supported test.

Is it acceptable to use it in a real assessment?

Practice is what it is for. For any real test, follow the employer's rules, which frequently forbid outside help.
