AI Inductive Reasoning Solver

Upload a screenshot of an inductive reasoning question, get the answer in seconds, and see the rule that links the examples.

The short answer

ReasonEra is an AI solver and tutor for inductive reasoning questions. You upload a screenshot or photo of a sequence or matrix; it finds the rule that links the examples, returns the answer and, in Tutor Explanation mode, explains the rule step by step. The aim is practice and understanding.

How to use the inductive reasoning solver

  1. Take a clear picture. Capture the whole question and its options. Practice questions from free or official sources work best.
  2. Upload in the browser. Add the image on ReasonEra's site. It runs in your browser with no install.
  3. Select Quick Verify or Tutor Explanation. Use the first to check your own answer, and the second to see how the rule works, step by step.

What inductive reasoning questions look like

Inductive reasoning questions give you a series of examples, such as a sequence of figures or a grid, and ask you to infer the general rule and apply it to find the next or missing item. The skill is spotting what changes and what stays the same.

Worked example: count and fill

Question: Across each row the number of circles increases by one, and down each column the fill gets darker. What goes in the last cell?

?Answer
Original practice example: count rises across columns, fill darkens down rows.

Answer: Three black circles, as drawn in the answer box.

How the reasoning goes:

  1. List what changes: the number of circles and their fill.
  2. Rule 1: across a row, the count goes 1, 2, 3. So the last column has three circles.
  3. Rule 2: down a column, the fill goes white, grey, black. So the last row is black.
  4. Combine the rules: three circles in the last column and black in the last row gives three black circles.

Practice tips

  • Write down every attribute that changes before looking for the rule.
  • Test a rule on a second row before trusting it.
  • Watch for a second, slower rule hiding behind an obvious one.
  • Review the explanation of every question you got wrong.

Limits to know about

  • Image quality matters: make sure the whole question and all options are visible and in focus.
  • Where a question is poorly worded, the tool may settle on a different reading from the test author.
  • A slow second rule hidden behind an obvious one can be missed, so check the rule against every example.
  • No AI tool is perfect. Check an explanation that looks wrong, and treat the explanation as a study aid.

A note on fair use

Most employers expect you to complete an assessment on your own. ReasonEra is meant for studying before that day, so use it to understand questions, not to answer a live one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an inductive reasoning solver?

It is a tool that reads an image of an inductive reasoning question, finds the rule that links the examples and gives the answer. ReasonEra also explains the rule so you can learn to spot it yourself.

Can ChatGPT solve inductive reasoning questions?

General assistants can read an image and try, but accuracy on visual pattern puzzles varies by model and question. ReasonEra's published benchmark concluded that specialised models outperform general-purpose models such as GPT-4o, Claude and Gemini on these tests. Try both on your own questions.

Which inductive tests does ReasonEra support?

ReasonEra has guides and solvers for tests including SHL inductive reasoning, Aon cut-e scales ix, clx and cls, and SHL Verify Interactive G+. See the list on this page.

Does it cost anything to start?

A free ReasonEra account comes with 3 trials. Beyond those, the 14-Day Pass is a single 49 € payment with no usage limit on supported tests.

Can I use it during a real test?

ReasonEra is a practice tool. Whether outside help is allowed in a live test is the employer's decision, and often it is not, so check before you start.

Test it on the question you keep missing

Free trials come with every account. If it helps, a 14-Day Pass for 49 € removes the limit for two weeks.
